That's just hilarious. Honestly, "Waaaah, our team lost today, and one of our players was taken out, let's make them pay!"

It isn't a good hit, I admit, but receivers aren't supposed to be great blockers. He went low where he has the leverage to take out a blocker, and he did. Call it dirty, call itwhatever, it wasn't called during the game, so if they want to inform the NFL that's fine, but they still have 34 points to make up for.

Maybe they should look into who on the Chiefs coaching staff let Berry onto the field after his injury thus exposing him to even worse injury.

wasn't this where he got the first injury? And then they let him back out and he got hurt again?

Looking at that replay, it looks like SJ connected with his pads; not his helmet.

Whatever. I thought Bills fansy were whiny *****es...that forum is damn near unreadable.

I don't think there is a poster here that would consider emailing ****ing Florio over that hit. Who the **** is Florio when it comes to league discipline?

Well, we don't have to worry about those kind of things because we were on the right side of a lashing today. Against the reigning AFC West Champs...imagine what these guys would sound like if they were in our shoes for the past 10 years!!

Yep, this is where he first got hurt. They let him back on the field and his knee gave out after that.

Well if the league thinks it dirty they will fine him. Simple as that. The way I understood it those are legal as long as it's not on the lines type thing. I don't like the way it looks but as I said they will fine him if he should be fined and the Chiefs fans boo hooing isn't going to be the reason he gets fined :laughter:

"Cut blocks (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d81b8779d/printable/defenders-wondering-when-nfl-will-protect-their-safety) are mainly legal in the open field where the defender can hurdle the offensive player but not at the line of scrimmage, where the tactic is particularly dangerous, sometimes causing career-threatening injuries."

Then, enter the Bills fans acting like junior high schoolers.... shameful.

Way to raise your completion percentage Cassel. What a ****up this guy is.

(11:15) (No Huddle) 7-M.Cassel pass short middle to 7-M.Cassel to KC 27 for -4 yards (37-G.Wilson).

I think the reaction here would be similar if we just got our asses handed to us and it was Bowe taking out Byrd.

it wasn't a dirty hit, imo. Berry saw it coming and had a chance to adjust. **** happens, especially in football.

I would be pissed if that happened, but I would understand it was a LEGAL hit. Some of their posters were saying Stevie hit his knee with his helmet when you could CLEARLY see from the footage on their board that Stevies helmet was not near his knee at all.

09-12-2011, 09:04 AM
Yeah, I don't see the problem with that, it was a marginal hit, in that he almost caught him from behind, but he did just enough to get his shoulder down in front of Berry's leg, which makes it a legal hit.

If he gets fined for that they may as well play in tutus.

berry came back on the field after the hit and then hurt himself without any contact, if i remember correctly.

It was a clean legal hit. I think most on this board would realize that as most on the Chiefs board do. There do seem to be a few more idiots on the Chiefs board than this board however.

i wouldn't have. i thought hte hit looked questionable but then i heard the rule that outside the line the cut block is fine. and the fact that he was only temporarily shook up and came back out and then hurt himself suggests they are unrelated.

at the bills' lowest moments its always dirty hits and officials that had it out against us. and that was our way of venting frustration.

having said that i felt like kyle williams and dareus were held a bunch in the game and it went uncalled. but the fact our linebackers actually can cover people, it's not such a big deal.

Here is how I see it. Chiefs fans are upset, and it's understandable. If Byrd were hit by Bowe like that in a game where the Chiefs dominated Buffalo at the Ralph, we would probably be having that same conversation.

Losses on your home turf like that one suck. But Berry means a lot to that fan base, a lot more probably than Byrd means to this one. The Chiefs got destroyed by a team many thought couldn't beat them including some on this message board. It's just a thing of being caught up in an unexpected moment. It will pass. In my opinion, it's time to start looking towards the Raiders game.

FWIW, Stevie was just doing an interview on local radio and he said he actually goes up to guys before gametime and tells them in certain situations he's going for the cut block...it's what the coaches tell him to do.

I'd give it a day or two before getting too pissed. But, out of curiosity, where is Gailey? He should be defending his player and letting everyone know that the play called for Stevie to chop block.

I'd like to see Gailey step up and take the heat if Stevie was just doing what he was told.

I watched the replay. Berry got hit on the lower leg.

I see no evidence of a cheap shot. It's sad that Berry is out - ya never like to see good players go out, 'cause it hurts the quality of the league play.
