A great role for Bills' Scott

Gotta love a guy who rides his bike to practice.

Scott was on the field for an estimated 50 of Kansas City's 56 offensive snaps. His role in the opener was that of a hybrid linebacker/safety in the team's nickel package (Scott and cornerback Aaron Williams came onto the field in place of Dwan Edwards and Andra Davis).

"My position, it really is going to change from week to week just depending upon what teams come out and do," Scott said. "We were able to get ahead early in the game and they were kind of playing from behind. They stayed in more passing formations -- and we matched up very well against it."

I thought Scott had a really good game. One of his best in the last couple of years imo.

I almost wonder if this is the role the Bills are grooming Searcy for. I'm not terribly knowledgeable on Searcy, but of all our players, he seems most similar to Scott at this point. Just a thought. And yes, Scott looked very good this past Sunday.

I would agree that Scott is definitely grooming Searcy. Same type player.

Scott and the secondary was impressive with their tackling on Sunday. They all wrapped up very early. even byrd's tackle on a swing pass on third down was great.

Hopefully this is the hallmark of the bills defense. get to the ball fast and make the tackle on first contact.

So, there is a player in college that could be ridiculously good at this job and would be the future in this type of defense..... Levonte David - Nebraska.... watch this guy play. He's an undersized LB that plays a bit like a safety which might be his position in the pros.

Liked the Scott signing back when it happened, liked it even more throughout the years. Versatile as heck.
