This is not new for the Giants. Parcells and *hint* *hint* Belicheck did the same against the Bills to slow them down that game.

That crap should be the same thing as when defenders don't get off the ball carrier in a timely fashion late in the game or after the ref sets the ball and a defender moves it.
Delay of game, 5 yards.

I like the comment "I've seen better acting in porno"

I say give refs the power to penalize "delay of game" when they see a blatant fall. This will be more of a credible threat than anything.
Additionally, some are saying to prevent injured players from returning that series, which of course opens up the possibilities of reserve players entering the game for flops instead of regular starters.

The more logical thing to do IMO is in the 4th qtr if a team has timeouts left you charge them a time out for injury. If they are out of timeouts, you give them a 15 yd penalty.

Last night, for example, the Giant players did that only after the Rams had driven a good amount on them. The reserve players would have had to have been in from the start of the drive, in order to pull that off. Part of the effectiveness of the no-huddle is to catch the defense with the same personnel on the field.
I don't see defenses starting drives with reserves on the field, so they can fall "just in case" a team puts a no-huddle type drive on them.
I think they should extend the "player sits for one play" rule to "player sits for the series, or until the offensive team gets another first down, whichever comes first." I think that's a fair compromise for stopping the clock, especially in the fashion that the Giants did.

Maybe, if there is an "injury" in this sort of situation on the defense, the defense shouldn't be allowed to make substitutions, except for the "injured" players. That might help some.
