Conservative group calling to boycott Ben and Jerry's "Shweddy Balls" ice cream. They also didn't like "Hubby Hubby" which celebrated gay marriage.
Friggin ridiculous. Some people need to just relax and laugh a bit. Why is it that so many are so damn uptight?

I understand exactly what you're saying, but Mr. Ben and Jerry should have had a little bit of foresight before they named an ice cream flavor "Shweddy Balls." What the hell did they think was gonna happen? Why even use that name in the first place?
It's a kids food...you know kids are gonna ask mommy and daddy what that means. Then those mommies and daddies are gonna complain to the company because they don't like being honest with their children.

a) Because it's funny and people need to relax.
b) Because my daughter can read and can go to any checkout line in any grocery store with me and read the word sex on the cover of almost every magazine. It's my job to teach my kids what is appropriate and inappropriate for their age. Trying to cleanse the world of semi-adult humor will never happen. Frankly, it's laughable to even try to fight that losing battle. Quit trying, focus on your parenting instead.

I'm not arguing against your view, but I don't think "Shweddy Balls" is that funny of an ice cream flavor. I think the name is completely irrelevant to ice cream. I know they can do better because they have done better.
I absolutely fault any parent who would take offense to the name if their kid saw it. But I also think Ben and Jerry naming an ice cream flavor "Shweddy Balls" is pretty imprudent. It's not really creative at all compared to their other names, and they have to know people are gonna complain about it.
I agree though, people are uptight about the wrong things. Really, the name of an ice cream flavor shouldn't be any one's priority. They should brush it off and focus on more important things. Boycott it? Please, they need to grow up.

And when I was a kid and came across jokes like that and asked my parents what it meant, they said "You'll understand when you're older."
There is nothing stopping parents today from doing the same exact thing.
Either that, or just ignoring it and buying other flavors.

since when is Ben & Jerry a kid food? Show me the kid that can plunk down that kind of coin for ice cream.
As far as the naming - some folks have too much time on their hands. go do something productive like treat the poor and infirmed. Jesus will be more impressed.

what? Help the poor? Obviously you're not paying attention. Someone made a pun about testicles. And- get this- kids may see it! What could be more important than that?

Im sorry but the idea of somebody saying "Do you know what I go for right now? Some Shweddy Balls!" is ****ing hysterical.
Its as good as when the Sweetwater Brewery made Motor Boat;

Then as we drink we call each other "You Motor Boating SOB", once again ****ing hysterical.

I laughed my ass off when I saw that on the news this afternoon. What a ridiculous but funny as hell name for an ice cream.
When I heard them say the name of the ice cream and it sounded like "Sweaty Balls" I was like WTF? Then saw it was spelled different but it sounds the same when you say it.
Tasting some "Shweddy Balls" doesn't sound very tasteful and yummy to me. Maybe to some people though if that's their choice I guess lol.
I can just picture the horrified look or reaction some parent, father or spouse who hasn't heard of the name of the ice cream when they hear their son, young daughter or spouse say I want and love the taste of "Shweddy Balls" or talking how great them "Shweddy Balls" were lol
