All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Charles 56 yards
McFadden 72 yards
Green-Ellis 16 yards
Not too shabby.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
I know people have been giving praises to Fitz, to O-Line, to coaching; to me, the single biggest improvement of this Bills team is what you pointed out: STOPPING THE RUNNING ATTACK.
NE has always been able to run the ball a little bit. Tom Brady is always the big target but what they were at their best is when they can run somewhat - last year they killed us in the 2nd game by running.
This time, they just could not. Their last TD series at the goal line is a perfect example.
I really don't care people harping on the Bills passing D. Look every team has weak areas, everyone! If we can make other teams being one dimensional, that's receipe for success in my book. It does not matter how great Tom Brady is, if he has to throw EVERY time in order to move the ball on us, sooner or later, the kind of turnovers like yesterday WILL happen.
It's kind of funny here in Pittsburgh, fans always say they are weak at secondary, at corners. But they are always able to stop the run. The result? They have a great D all these years!
I think we have given up over 100 yards the last two games. It would be nice to keep everyone under a 100. But one way to do that is to not give teams a 20point headstart.
The additioins of Barnett, Dareus, and Merriman, and to a lesser extent the return of Davis I think have been the main factors here. Barnett's been incredible.

Our yards per attempt numbers would be a lot better if we could defend the reverse well. I think all three teams used it on us once with significant success. That's something I'd like to see the coaches correct, as it adds a 20+ yard run to the stats every time.
