Wk 3: Op's negative nancy thread

Okay, in honor of Op...come in here and list anything negative that you can think of. I'll try to channel some of what he might say:

    - Ref calling was bad at times though it seem to even out on both teams
    - Defense put some pressure on Brady, but still isn't that attacking DLine that we were expecting.
    - Spiller pretty much a no-show.
    - Wood had some stupid penalties
    - Who the hell was covering Wes Walker and Gronkowski?

Actually I mentioned pretty much all those things in my post-game review article, although I think I may have forgot to mention Spiller.

Fitzpatrick missed a couple wide open recievers in that 4th quarter that could have changed the game.

refs early were atrocious. on the byrd helmet to helmet hit that didn't exist, they spotted the ball literally 2 yards further down the field for no reason. they let holding calls go for the pats but called lesser versions against the bills. pathetic.

the 15 yard roughing the passer both times on the pats were terrible calls. i guess it went both ways in the end.

What business does Aaron Williams have covering one of the best receivers in the NFL one on one? That shouldn't be an Op thing, that should be an every fan thing. Hell, that should be a Chan Gailey thing.

Move Reggie back inside, even if he was cut at the deadline, he was still a decent nickel and dime DB.

Also, why aren't we paying these players that are proving they deserve to be on this team and in the NFL? I can see a lot of players on this team sniffing around free agency in the future... but they do need to keep up their production.
              Bye Bye Brady...

You have to watch hard for Darius but hes doing just fine. Hes getting double teamed but maintaining his position along the line. Hes forced RBs on several occasions to stop at the line, and force them into a cut which slows them down...Hes not blowing up backfields just yet, but hes playing very solid

And I agree on Merriman although he was the only one who got to Brady yesterday when he latched on to his leg and forced him to throw an incompletion.

Dareus has been solid and eating up space. He also deflected the pass that Florence picked.

It would be interesting to see a metric on how many times opposing RBs have been forced outside, because it happened a lot with Charles and McFadden. That's thanks to Dareus.

Merrimen did more than that. He had roles to play in this game. For example, he was in on a play that took the lead blocker away from the running back and allowed others to tackle him. He was also, once again, held several times in the game with no flag being thrown.
