After some deep, complicated scientific analysis I've come to the conclusion that we're going to go 12-4 this season. This is based on a pattern I've seen developing for the Bills under Chan Gailey, as these numbers will show:

First set of eight games: 0-8
Second set of eight games: 4-4
Third set of eight games: 3-0 (thus far)

Based on extrapolation (which is of course highly recommended in every scientific field), I can see that we'll finish this third set of eight games with an 8-0 record. However, then the remainder of the cycle will be another 4-4 grouping, leaving us with a 12-4 record on the year.

Thankfully, the playoffs will break the cycle, which means we won't be going 0-8 to start next season.

That is true, we can't exactly determine the specific pattern of the cycle without seeing it at least once. However, I used some clues to pinpoint if it will start over or wind back down.

The main clue was that we play the Dolphins twice in that latter time span, thus we are definitively not going 0-8 in our final 8 games of this regular season.

it'll be difficult to get to 8-0 this season, but if we do, going 10-0 isn't going to be very hard since we'll have dallas and miami as follow-up games.

if we are extrapolating, the bills scored 41, then 38 and now 34...we are losing 4 points a game. by week 12, we'll only score 2 points. defense is going to have to get much better to survive this statistical certainty.

In financial terms, that's called straight line depreciation. Lets hope we don't see that!

personally, i think the straight line depreciation is off this week. the bills are putting up the most points they have this season.

I'd really like to see us win at least 14 games this year, but I guess I could settle for 12.

And after we achieve that on Sunday, what's the next target?

I hate the phrase " one game at a time " but it applies, due to injuries and other unforseen possibilities.

When I think into " the future ", I think @Cinci Sunday and not a day beyond that. Get through that, then think about Philly.
