Sabres captain to be named in Europe

If it is being announced in Europe, it has to be Vanek, right?

And it better be one permanent captain.

No, because Vanek is from Austria, not Europe.

I try to set up an easy one so that even somebody like S11, Op or hydro can hit it out of the park and you have to come in and be greedy.

It shouldn't be Vanek. I don't know why Lindy doesn't give it to Gaustad. He'd make a good captain. Or I could see Pominville too. But Vanek doesn't strike me as a captain type.

Why Gaustad? He has one year left on his deal and it is very possible he won't be here next year.

                Vanek - C, Roy - A, Hecht - A

                If I were to guess

Vanek will be captain. The alternates will be Regher and Pomminville.

                  If I were to guess.

Vanek might not be the Captain like all of you think,

Pominville had the "C" again last night "he's worn it more times this preseason than any other Sabres player" Harry Neale said.

He deserves to have the "C" he's worked his butt off in preseason this year coming back from a severed tendon which required surgery that he suffered in game 5 of the playoff series against the flyers last season when he went into the corner with J.V.R. for a loose puck. Plus keep this in mind, Pominville was captain twice in 2007-08 season when the Sabres rotated the "C" he was named captain for March and April. So that's why I think Pominville will be getting the "C" and Vanek the "A"

Thanks for the explanation on how Pominville was injured, I'm sure no one on this forum was watching that random obscure game you're referencing.

another player I would throw the "C" on is Gerbe. I think he could handle it! the way he plays, he never gives up and he can take charge of the team when they are down a goal.
