All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

did it seem to anyone else that the Bengals played dirty?
Re: did it seem to anyone else that the Bengals played dirty?
No. And if they did, so what? This is a mans game...there no skirts.
Man the F up, go punch someone in the mouth. This is something we need much more of. Merriman brought some of that this year as did Dareus. We need more.

Between Simpson and Benson the Bengals are dirty
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Marvin Lewis is a thug, and so is 3/4 of that entire roster. The only reason they drafted Dalton is because he looks like Opie and makes a team full of thugs look like candy stripers.

Their DB's played our receivers much more physical than we're used to as well.

There was all kinds of hits after the play was over, players coming in late on the pile, etc.
So, was it just me?
Yes, it's just you. They simply outplayed us. Their defense had Fitzpatrick frustrated all game long. Our defense made great plays at times during the game, but eventually broke towards the end. Momentum is a big thing in a close game on the road. No matter how good or bad a team is, controlling momentum is the key sometimes. In this case, Bengals had momentum at the end. They played a good game. JMO

It's more than fine to play aggressive and hit hard. I agree with Chern. There were a lot of questionably late-ish hits and those hits were led with helmets and elbows - those are usually allowed to happen but are technically skirting the rules. It happened on two successive running plays in the 3rd quarter when Freddie left the game and CJ then had to come out and was limping a little. Both returned but I bet that some that are saying it's all part of the game would be singing a different tune if BOTH had been knocked out for an extended period of time.
For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.
