Looking at the defense they do absolutely nothing to confuse the offense and thats the objective rookie one at that y do they give every quarter respect. when they didn't blitz Tom Brady i understood y veteran qb he ll eat u up but a rookie come on u gotta blitz him from his blindside man, even tho our corners got burnt not all there fault they were covering to long and yes Fitz was off but Bengals weren't specular our defense made them look that way with giving time to throw getting big plays. up 14 and halftime 3rd quarter 2 quick big plays. Watching the Baltimore and even the jets they were doing creative blitzes throwing each other off and we cant even shake up a rookie qb that is all Edwards. we could've won the game if our defense showed up offense is not always gonna b there they were there for 3 weeks y do we have Dave wann for. gotta take chances and they don't play to conservative and we still give up big plays. Edwards got to take chances he cant use that we don't have the players excess anymore we got the talent to do so start using them. That base defense is not gonna work if they know that your bringing it.

Yeah I'm souring on Edwards as our DC... after 4 weeks and were giving up huge yards...

I was willing to look past Oakland and NE... but after this weekend it's time to start call out the head guy calling the D plays the D scheme and the D game-plan

One could argue that we're built more for a 4-3 at this point. We're basically using Dareus and Williams as our penetrating (or lack there of at this point) DTs. Kelsay should never have his hand off of the ground. Even Barnett was an All Pro as a MLB in a 4-3.

What I'm concerned with is that our defensive front 7 is still struggling. I don't know whether to point blame at George Edwards for that or his assistants. We went out and got Wannstedt but I'm just not seeing the improvement with our LB core. They don't even know what to do with Moats. Even in our wins, this defense has struggled. It is concerning. I agree that something has to give here. Either Edward's job should be in jeopardy, or somebody from his staff has to answer for that. JMO

Extreme i agree he just not using there talents he is play n safe D preventing big plays leaving them out there to cover to long and giving up big plays anyway you cant cover that long

You can have beefed up lineman and still play a 4-3. And Kelsay is spending most of his time with his hand in the ground again this season. What's the point of even calling him a LB if he's just going to be lining up with a hand in the ground part of our 4 man front?

That would likely mean a return to the 4-3 Cover 2 defense that we all hated and some roster overhaul. We don't have the right personnel for that right now. We'd need 43 DE's, and OLB's specifically.

Exactly more speed now they bring in byron scott in the game u could do so many things with this defense but he contiinue with this safe base defense plus if you go back to 4-3 your asking LB to cover TE and today TE are fast like pats TE imagine kelsay covering him

I don't understand his refusal to blitz, the 3 and 4 man rush is not getting it done, time to mix things up. His rotating (substitutions) drive me nuts, I get tired of seeing DAREUS or WILLIAMS on the sidelines on pivotal downs, put your best out there and play them.
