The refs were absolutely terrible in the Cincy game.
It goes like this:
Was the Johnson non-catch a bad call? Yes
Would it have guaranteed a win if he caught the ball? No
Would it have guaranteed a win if the refs called a perfect game? No
The Bills played a bad game and we can't blame this loss on the refs, because if we were playing better, the handful of calls they blew would have been irrelevant.
But the refs are there to ensure an even competition. When the calls are that bad and that one sided, it's not an even competition. It's unfair to the fans and the players. The fact that we can't blame the loss solely on the refs doesn't change the fact that the refs need to be held to a high standard and there is no excuse for their performance on Sunday.
So, as long as they're not blaming the loss on the refs, it is perfectly legitimate for people to complain about the horrendous officiating.
