    leodis mckelvin

i havent really posted much since the season has started.

although i have been watching the board about 4 times a day.

    one thing amazes me though.

nobody has started a thread about mckelvin.

    SO HERE IT IS!

he is easily one of the biggest flaws in our secondary.

the man played horribly against a very GREEN bengals team.

A.J. Green tore him up and so did just about everyone else. really the only reason his stats in that game do not look that bad is because there were multiple times that a wide open reciever missed the easy catch. (PHEW)

he face guards just about every play. wile it is a very good defensive maneuver that works well, it has to be done to perfection. HE NEVER LOOKS BACK. you cant bank on the hand wave in the face of the reciever every time. you are going to get smoked if you do that.

fact is we need to figure something out with him.

not sure if a williams is the answer, because opposing offenses will key on him all day due to him being a rook.

if mcgee is suited up like some of you predict, i think we should think about possibly starting him in leodis' place.

    WHAT DO YOU THINK?
a decent qb can win a fluke super bowl. but a franchise qb makes a perennial powerhouse.

There has been plenty of criticism about Mushmouth, all well deserved.

You summarized it nicely. Hopefully Mcgee is ready to go, that should be a great improvement even factoring in Mcgees rust.

Great post!! And most of what you're saying is 100% true. The guy did get lit up like Christmas versus Green, and countless others. He's a risk taker, and he's usually a step slow. He's really been a liability alot of the time. He can be effective sometimes, and can pick the ball off from time to time, but he's gotta become more consistent.

How much longer is this bum going to be out? I thought he was initially supposed to miss "a few weeks" I was thinking he should have been cut because he seems to always be hurt. With how bad Mckevlin is, we need Mcgee back and healthy. Keep Mckelvin as the nickle and Mcgee back to the starting position. Does anybody

McToast has had one good play so far this season, and that was the pick against the Pats*. This guy just scares me, especially against Jackson and Maclin this week.

I don't blame all on McKelvin because on the plays he was beat his coverage was good.
WHERE in the hell are the safeties?????
AJ Green is going to be a beast and the D should have had the safety on dbl help and they didnt...
I blame alot on the coaching in that game the defense was bad vs a fair offensive team....

It all comes back full circle to the coaching of George Edwards. He ****ing sucks.

                  Re: leodis mckelvin

McKelvin's play as a cornerback is great from the waist down, and pretty terrible from the waist up. It's unfortunate he doesn't seem to have the instinct to go with his athleticism.

McGee is even worse than McKelvin in a man cover situation.

This team needs to get a top flight corner or prospect at corner this offseason.

Well A. Will is hurt, so no one is going after him. McGee is needed, and McToast sucks. Drayton is good, so let's put Drayton and Terrence on the field, and hope that Reggie and/or McWorthless can step up.
