Overwhelming negativity? Hardly.

Face it- the Sabres aren't going to win every game. They're not going to keep up this 4 goals a game pace forever either. And they're coming off a 6 day layoff with a trip back from Europe at the start of it.

While they are a better team than Carolina, there is a very good chance that they could come out flat. That's not negativity- it's the reality.

I still think the "scorers" on this team are inconsistent and it's going to show through at some point. With the travel and the long layoff, this is as likely a point as any.

I don't think it's an extreme negative view.

I've been saying for years that this team lacks a true scorer and the "scorers" on the team are inconsistent, but no one wants to hear it because Vanek scored 40 goals 3 years ago.

I doubt we get shutout after having almost a week off.

That's another thing.

While the team did put together complete efforts in the first two games, it's only two games. It's going to take more than that to convince me they can play hard for a full 60 consistently.

To which I also say, I understand your point.

But until something breaks down and the injury bug begins to hit key guys, I don't see why we should lose only the 3rd game in.

Even the 06-07 team won 10 in a row to open the season.

It depends. If Miller has a bad game or a bad period, I'm not going to start saying the Sabres goaltending sucks because we know that's not true. Bad games happen even to the best players.

if the bad game/period is a continuation of problems they already had and it shows that those problems haven't been addressed, then yes.

I know everyone likes to think that everything is perfect in Sabreland because we went two games without showing the flaws we had last season, but it's too early to jump to that conclusion.

I'll believe they've solved the problems when they prove it over a long stretch.
