Note the two refs inspecting the pile ... then triumphantly signaling two different directions. After one appears to tap the other on the shoulder to change their mind, the fun continues. Both refs simultaneously flip flop before the third comes in waving his arms like he doesn't care.

That pretty sums up the state of the officiating so far this year. It's been awful.

And I thought the shortened off season would only affect the players...

I saw the game with six other people in the room. I'm the only one who saw it. Everyone else was like, naw, that was one of the players gesturing the opposite direction for the first down. I felt like I was taking crazy pills (like Will Ferrell).

I feel validated now. I knew I saw some officiating buffoonery.
