All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
....Evernham admits that his chances for recouping all of his money are slim, but he stands by his decision to file the suit. “It may be like throwing a bucket of water in the ocean, but at some point you have to stand up and say this stuff has to stop,” he says. “This is about responsibility. There’s something wrong with the system when people can be that leveraged and just walk away and not pay people back.”
Evernham and Gillett once had a good relationship, according to Evernham. When Gillett was originally brought in as a majority owner, “the plan was to grow Evernham Motorsports so we could compete with the likes of Rick Hendrick,” he says. But the relationship soon soured. “In reality, Gillett came in and didn’t put any money into the company and took on more debt and instead of having more money to work with I had less.”
I live in Montreal, and know that he sold the team (Habs) because hge had loans to pay off for Liverpool. He is not a bad owner, just question his cash flow
After the Liverpool disaster with Tom Hicks, I'd be very, very, very nervous about the situation if it were to materialise. The only saving grace is that Tom Hicks was the real villan in the Liverpool situation, but Gillett didn't exaclty come out of it smelling of roses.
He is basically a blowhard and scam artist who financed his various endeavors with junk bonds, and then went belly up on almost everything he acquired. No thanks, we've already had the Rigases on the Buffalo sports scene.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
