Cecil Martin did not have the same glorified heroes as other kids. Of course, being from Chicago and attending Evanston High School in Illinois, Cecil was a fan of the 1985 Bears. However, no one on that roster, or any other sports stars, fit what he considered his definition of heroes.
According to Cecil's hero list, his mother Diana would be at the top. Martin said, "She is a genuine good person, she is strong. She worked tooth and nail to the bone to give us as much as she could." As well as being a diligent worker, Diana also found time to support and mother Cecil and the rest of her children...
