Don't know if this has been posted yet but I thought I'd share this with everyone. Well done George.

In the first half of last Sunday’s game George Wilson was ubiquitous posting nine tackles, three pass breakups and an interception in Buffalo’s 31-24 win over Philadelphia. By game’s end he led the team with 11 takedowns and added a quarterback hit in for good measure. It all added up to earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Wilson’s first-half interception was one of four the Bills made off Michael Vick in the seven-point victory.

“It’s about opportunities,” said Wilson. “We were able to get some pressure Sunday and force him to make some quick throws, quicker than he would like to and we were able to get our hands on a few balls.”

Good for him. 3 PDs credited is a fine number for any DB, especially so for a safety.

Well deserved!

I love stories such as these. Wilson was a WR with the Razorbacks and still holds the Arkansas record for 2nd most career receptions. His senior year he recorded 172 yards on 9 receptions with 1 TD in a 71-63 win over Kentucky.

He was a UFA picked up by the Lions in 2004 but an opportunity never materialized.

In Oct. 2004 the Bills signed him to the practice squad. In 2007 he transitioned from WR to SS - a position he never played before.

Remember the MNF game against Dallas? The one that got a away? The Bills "creep" defense? TO driving the nail into the coffin on the last drive?

Well that was Wilson's first NFL start as a SS. He had a pick 6 against Tony Romo. Later that year he had a fumble return for a TD against the Dolphins.

Wilson is quickly becoming my favorite Buffalo Bill since Steve Tasker. He's articulate, fun to watch and a really smart player. He's leading the Bills in tackles and is top 5 in the league in tackles (to date), and has 3 ints on the season thus far.

Congrats!!

If another one of our WRs goes down he may have to play both sides of the ball
