Finish Strong Or Else: Interesting Stat

I just noticed that the last 5 SB Winners all won at least 7 of their last 9 games!

    2002 Bucs: 7 of last 9

    2001 Pats: 8 of last 9

    2000 Ravens: 7 of last 7

    1999: Rams: 7 of last 9

    1998: Broncos: 7 of last 9.

This stat ends with 97 Broncos who won only SIX of last 9! But it starts again with 96 Pack. I haven't gone back further but this was interesting. Finishing Strong isn't just a clique. It really seems to matter.

So here are the Bills and Fins schedules for the last 9 games. Enjoy!

    Buffalo 2003 Last 9:
    Oct 26 @Kansas City 8:30pm
    Week 9 BYE
    Nov 9 @Dallas 4:15pm
    Nov 16 Houston 1:00pm
    Nov 23 Indianapolis 1:00pm
    Nov 30 @N.Y. Giants 1:00pm
    Dec 7 N.Y. Jets 4:15pm
    Dec 14 @Tennessee 1:00pm
    Dec 21 Miami 1:00pm
    Dec 27 @New England 1:30pm

    Miami 2003 Last 9:

    Nov 2 Indianapolis 1:00pm
    Nov 9 @Tennessee 1:00pm
    Nov 16 Baltimore 1:00pm
    Nov 23 Washington 8:30pm
    Nov 27 @Dallas 4:05pm
    Dec 7 @New England 4:15pm
    Dec 15 Philadelphia 9:00pm
    Dec 21 @Buffalo 1:00pm
    Dec 28 N.Y. Jets 1:00pm

    What do you think?

Dallas, Houston, Indy, and Miami at home look like the easiest 4. We then would need to win 3 of these:

        Jets at home

        Tenny on Road

        NE on Road

        KC on Road

        Giants on Road

Daunting task. But if we started decent and won these 9 we could be considered truly legit.

well, rules need to be broken.

Just because you go in slow means nothing.

The bye week is much more important then this stat.

Look what happened to all the Wildcard teams the past 2 years.
          I'm lost.

Xnought: Well, that goes without saying. Getting a bye week is predicated on the success of the ENTIRE season while my stat is the last 9 games. Obviously the entire season is more important than 9 games. Nonetheless, the last 5 SB winners did not back their way into the playoffs.

I think the Jets at home will be easier than Miami at home. They were teetering with an awful start lstart last season, before pulling it out with fresh blood at QB. With all the losses in FA and the suspension, this team is in trouble

Thank you, while I think the Jets is still a good team, I think Miami is better..and if they're all still healthy coming up to your game..I still think we give you a great challenge and can possibly steal one from you like 2 years ago. I consider all AFCE wins steals, because the teams know each other so well..it doesn't matter the records in this division, each team can beat the other.

Miami may be a better team than the Jets, but its much harder for Miami to win in Buffalo in December than it is for the Jets to do the same.

It's hard for Miami to win in December, period.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

That wasn't problem 2 years ago, and I don't think it's problem now, if we're healthy...Ricky ran like it's no tomorrow in the snow, and we've beat cold weather teams in the past. We just don't have a very good 2nd half of the season, and I don't think it has to do with cold..but rather the eveness of this division.
