LB Shawne Merriman (Achilles) will not travel with the team. He is now listed as OUT for tomorrow's game against the Giants. Per V-txt

Maybe we can get him back for the playoffs.

Five games is longer than I thought to be honest.

Sad to say but he won't really be missed.

Not traveling with the team? Can't he at least be on the sidelines?

My sources tell me he is stopped at the Canadian/American boarder and the Canadians won't release him.

Better to stay back and rest/receive treatment.

there might be a revelation this week with moats and batten starting. they might be our 2 best olbs...

Yeah I agree. Moats is more athletic than Merriman now but Lights Out is a Vet, he may not get to the QB like he used to but watch him play, he is almost never out of position and can read a play like he's on the offense.

An achilles injury is always bad news.

I think Takeo Spikes attempted to play on a bum achilles back in 2005 and blew it out soon thereafter.

This has season ending IR written all over it - at some point.

Which is a shame because I think Merriman is playing better than the stats indicate.

Merriman is now the Rob Johnson of Linebackers.

Merriman is now the Rob Johnson of Linebackers.No. The Bills didn't give up a first round pick for Merriman. The Merriman pickup hasn't really paid off thus far, but hasn't cost the Bills anything other than money.

He cost the fans who bought his jersey money :shoothead:

He is a guy who isn't hurting this team. We need him on the field.

merriman will be fine, he said he would be fine after the bye. i just think he should be a rotation guy at olb with moats starting. merriman can still help us win for the playoff push.

if merriman is wrong and its long term and he goes on ir, who would we pick up for depth at olb? i think coleman in on the giants practice squad. can we sign him to our active roster?

assuming merriman is wrong and he goes to ir during the bye and we pick up coleman our depth at lb would be

moats/ johnson/ coleman
barnett/ morrison
sheppard/ davis/ white
kelsay/ batten

thats still damn good!
