    B.Lloyd to Rams

The Denver Broncos will trade wide receiver Brandon Lloyd to the St. Louis Rams, NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reports, citing a league source.

It was widely reported last week the Broncos were open to dealing Lloyd and shopped around ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. The Rams, San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots were all known to be in discussions with the Broncos, sources told The Denver Post.

Lloyd, 30, is scheduled to make $1.395 million this season. He led the league last season with 1,448 yards on 77 receptions and scored 11 touchdowns.

Lloyd has 19 catches for 283 yards and no touchdowns this season.

    Compensation: 6th that could become a 5th, based on Lloyd's receptions: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/71...ms-sources-say

The Denver Broncos have traded receiver Brandon Lloyd to the St. Louis Rams, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.

The Rams gave up a sixth-round pick in the 2012 draft that could become a fifth-round pick depending on Lloyd's receptions.

The NFL's trade deadline is Tuesday.

Not bad for the Rams if they sign him to a new contract. Otherwise, would be stupid to trade for a rental when you're 0-5.

that doesn't make a lot of sense to me. the guy isn't going to be that effective learning a new playbook. the team is out of the playoff hunt. They are looking at high draft picks. Giving away a 5th or 6th will look more like a 4th or 5th.

odd way to spend a decent pick on an aging player.

He needs 30 receptions to make it a 5th, otherwise it's a 6th. (per schefter) That's a steal in my book

It makes a world of sense if you are a coach and GM trying to save your job.

It would seem to be a dumb move if they don't re-sign him and he doesn't play well. If he plays well, they at least get a comp pick to offset the traded pick if he signs elsewhere.

A trade that makes absolutely no sense for the Rams.

Funny how quickly the Rams have gone from an up and coming team, to the joke of the league where they belong.

And don't forget the reports on how the new owner is micro managing and demanding that the HC call him with reports on why they lost each week. Heck, maybe it was an edict from above. That whole situation isn't fair to Spagnolo, considering the stuff they had to fix...
