JaySkurski (http://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=JaySkurski) Chris Hairston is out for 2 to 4 weeks with his ankle injury. Gailey did not specify whether it was high ankle. Timeframe would say it's not 4 minutes (http://twitter.com/JaySkurski/status/126021875812925440)

JaySkurski (http://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=JaySkurski) OT Demetrius Bell has a "good chance" to return to the starting lineup when the #Bills (http://twitter.com/search?q=%23Bills) get back from bye, according to coach Chan Gailey. 8 minutes ago (http://twitter.com/JaySkurski/status/126020978298986496) ·

JaySkurski (http://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=JaySkurski) Expect CJ Spiller to remain at WR at least while Donald Jones is out. #Bills (http://twitter.com/search?q=%23Bills) 10 minutes ago (http://twitter.com/JaySkurski/status/126020505206661120)

JaySkurski (http://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=JaySkurski) Kelvin Sheppard will take over as starting inside LB when the #Bills (http://twitter.com/search?q=%23Bills) return from bye. 12 minutes ago (http://twitter.com/JaySkurski/status/126019986618724352)

JaySkurski (http://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=JaySkurski) #Bills (http://twitter.com/search?q=%23Bills) OLB Shawne Merriman expects to play in Week 8 when team returns from bye.

Good to see Sheppard being elevated. Davis was abused yesterday.

Except for Hairston, all good news. Bell needs to be back, as does Merriman and Williams, while Spiller at WR could be a dangerous weapon added to the arsenal.

Looks like they expect Kelsay back for week 8 too. So we should be getting healthier as the season goes on, which is a great thing compared to prior years!

Well he'll miss at least a game or two, so that's not good news. But I guess it's better than missing the rest of the season.

Forgot about Kelsay. Hopefully Jones returns soon as well.

Good to know Hairston is OK...The kid has a bright future.

I just wish the game was in Orchard Park instead of Toronto.

Davis is slow, but has experience. Sheppard is quick but lack experience.

Since Sheppard is the future you have to go with Sheppard. Experience can be gained, quickness for Davis cannot.

Spiller has great hands and will eventually bust one.

Sheppard should be starting and that move was planned.

One thing that has helped for Sheppard is his ability to watch film and pick stuff up quickly. During the Eagles game they said he was calling out close to 90% of the plays they were running.

Pretty much all good news, in my opinion. I feared a worse injury with Hairston, and it's alleviated a ton if Bell comes back and can stay in the lineup for those 2-4 weeks.

Sheppard will have 2 weeks to prepare as starter. Andra Davis may be a goat for at least this recent loss, but the guys is an excellent teammate and acts as another coach from the sidelines. Our defense could always use another coach.

Finally...Merriman. I think his return is a little more important than people think. Despite his lack of sacks, lack of true pressures and holding calls, I do think he adds something that our youngsters just don't have yet. Merriman does get attention on the outside. Eli Manning also had a pocket the size of Cambodia, and while Merriman doesn't exactly collapse pockets on a regular basis, the guy is obviously better at it than Moats and Batten for now.

2 to 4 weeks means there's a chance he could be back after the bye too.

NOT THE DUDE...

going into the 10 game stretch pretty healthy. we need to win 6 out of 10 to make the playoffs probably...

I knew Sheppard would start eventually. At least it wasn't by injury. Which means depth stays in tact.

Isnt Davis a team captain? Now he's a backup? That's gotta suck.

Good news about Hairston. Watching the replay, that could have been season ending. As long as Bell is ready to go in a couple weeks we should be ok at OT. With a healthy Bell playing LT, I'd like to see Hairston take over at RT when he comes back.

I'm excited about the Sheppard news. I like the way he plays and I think he has a bright future. I was never high on Davis, but he makes for some nice veteran depth.

I'm hoping the extra rest for Kyle Williams means he'll be back to his normal self after the bye. He hasn't been as dominant this year and we could sure use it.

Any time table on Aaron Williams returning?

From what I've read, he's not the type of guy to pout about it. Quintessential team player, and a good mentor for the young kids.

That'd be interesting but I'm not sure if they'll do it.

They seem to like Pears and he's played pretty well except the Giants game.

I think they see Hairston as our future LT. I don't think they're high on Bell considering the whole Levitre at LT fiasco during preseason. Would switching back to RT hinder his development? I gotta believe they're grooming him for LT.

I also think in training camp next year they'll give Sam Young every chance to win the RT spot kind of like the midseason waiver claims last year with Scott Chandler and Kraig Urbik getting penciled in as starters this year.

Yep.

The real question is what's the deal with Morrison? The guy was a starter his whole career and I haven't even seen him on the field. I like Sheppard and I know the coaching staff is high on him too, but Morrison has been completely invisible. Anyone know what's going on there? I'm not not shocked at all, but I am slightly surprised that Sheppard has surpassed him so quickly. Hopefully that's more of an appraisal of Shep and not an indictment of Morrison.

Hairston has earned a spot somewhere on the offensive line when he returns. I don't care if it's at LT or RT. But he needs to be on the field.

Hairston is going to be the LT sooner or later, no use wasting him on the right side. Move Bell over to the right for the rest of the season...Pears does a decent job run-blocking, but asking him to protect for the pass is like asking Andra Davis to cover Wes Welker man-to-man.
