With the 11th overall pick, of the 2009 NFL draft, the New York Jets select...

Talk about added speed and quickness to our OLB position, talk about Aaron Maybin. He'll most most definitely help a defense, as a pass rusher, that already ranks 3rd in sacks. Heck, he's already impacted for us.

He's the fastest/quickest LB we've had in quite some time. He's only 23 years of age. 2009's 11th overall pick. All he needed were a coach, such as Ryan himself, to help turn his career around. A defensive minded coach who could put this kid in the best possible position for success. Rex is a 3-4 defensive guru, and seen something special in this kid. Not only do we use Maybin as an OLB in pass rushing situation, but we've also used him as a 4-3 defensive end. This kid is versatile and breaking our during his 3rd year.

The Bills developed him. Rex is coaching him. He's finally surrounded by defensive talent with the Jets; and now he's getting to the quarterback on a consistant basis.

He's already put up two sacks, with three forced fumbles, in only 3 games of action. He also put up 3 sacks during the preseason. He's also shown overall top flight speed and capability to chase down amazingly fast backs such as Reggie Bush from 5 yards back! This kid is FAST coming off the edge. He also plays with a motor that's second to none.

gee ,I wonder why Rex the wonder dog decided to cut him at the start of the season ? We know he was only resigned because of an opening due to injury. Didn't even make the PS did he? Me personally, some of these "big plays" were by accident or shear luck I believe.

Even a broken watch is right twice a day. Sorry, I know where your going with this and I ain't buying it. He may smell great in Queens these days, but we can still smell the crap he called football for the Bills all the way in San Diego.

It's kind of hard to be considered a bust after only two years of being in the league. Maybin only had 1 year of college experience. This kid is still very raw, but as a 3rd year player, after being developed for two years in Buffalo; he's coming into his own. These sacks haven't been luck either. His speed isn't luck, this kid is blazing fast and exactly what the Jets needed. Speed. 3 preseason sacks and 2 sacks during the regular season. 3 forced fumbles and 2 sacks, during only 3 games of action? This kid is going to become a legit outside rusher from the edge.

4-2 vs. 3-3, where one 'breakout player' had success against the Miami Dolphins (0-5} and the other team has lost to 2 winning record teams.

Sanchez has been exposed, Cromartie is a joke and they'll gladly ride the wave of luck the rest of the way and will live off of terrible calls, but again faaaaail miserably and not win the SB. Will the Bills? No, but Aaron Maybin will NEVER be a significant playmaker by himself in this league.

Enjoy your Schobel stats while they pile up and lead to nothing.
                  Bye Bye Brady...

Maybin will never be anywhere close to the player Schobel is/was.

I have to flip on this... because I am the biggest apologist for being a Maybin fan when he came in.

2 FF's and a sack against the DOLPHINS with MATT MOORE! How can you be excited about that and that torrid Miami offensive line? He sacked Joe Flacco once, too. Woopdee MF do! 4 tackles in 3 games.

I compare his play to Aaron Maybin... Oh wait, he's that lackluster player who was continually cut and benched. Good for him putting up STAGGERING numbers against the Patriots. How'd that game turn out by the way?

                      Ugh...

His sacks are all plays where he was pushed way up the field and the Jets held coverage and Maybin stuck with the play. I applaud his effort and not giving up and I do root for him but simply put he is not an impact player.

Because of the Jets secondary he will definitely be more effective as he has more time to get the QB than he did here in Buffalo. I would certainly rather have Batten and Moats than Maybin at this time.
