CHARLOTTE - Continuing a recent trend toward stability, the Carolina Panthers signed defensive tackle Brentson Buckner to a four- year contract extension Tuesday.
The deal, which will pay Buckner $9.3 million total, keeps him under contract through the 2007 season.
As part of the deal, Buckner received a $1.54 million signing bonus. There's another $750,000 roster bonus due next March. There's a total of $8.35 million in new money in the deal, including $100,000 workout bonuses each year from 2004 to 2007...
