If this deal gets done, there is no question Chan likes Fitz & Buddy likes Chan. I would still expect them to draft a QB in the next draft if one is available that they like.Comment

This is a no-brainer. We have no one else remotely close who can play QB besides Fitz, and although he has looked pretty human lately, he still is an above average QB in this league. The only question is years. I'd like to see it be three years, but I could totally understand four.Comment

I'm fine with it. No doubt about it - he has his shortcomings. But he's also the unquestioned leader of this team and he's brought an offense back from the dead. Gailey's been great as coach, but Fitzpatrick has been great with execution outside of a few bad passes.
How many times have people discussed what poor shape we'd be in if Fitzpatrick went down with injury? He's valuable to our team right now. Fitz will be starting next year at the bare minimum, possibly for the next 2-3 years."Misguided political correctness tethers our intellects."
