Marty Schottenheimer's Virginia Destroyers won the UFL Championship yesterday. The UFL shortened what is probably their last season to a 4 game regular season & 2 postseason games, a championship game & a consolation game.

Marty might be the only coach in NFL history to go 14-2 & get fired in the same NFL season, that's not going to happen that often. AJ's personal feelings may have gotten in the way of business, he replaced him with Norv Turner (LOL).Last edited by Skooby; 10-22-2011, 11:16 PM.

Serious? Last I heard I thought they cancelled the season. 4 whole games and everyone made the playoffs. Sound like my adult hockey league.

Not quite. The UFL only has one championship game (no playoffs). The other game was just to make up the team's obligation to the stadium they were renting. They ended up only losing two regular season games, both in Las Vegas, which were drawing pretty much nothing but dust.Originally posted by PromoTheRobot
As for the championship... Fassel didn't learn from his mistake the last time. Brian Brohm threw a couple of TDs against Virginia the last time after Chase Clement stunk it up. So, he put Clement back in there this game, and he continued to stink it up, but didn't put Brohm back in. As much as Brian was awful here in Buffalo, the limited time he spent in Las Vegas, he showed flashes of his potential. Fassel was mailing it in.Comment
