Pathetic.

No one showed up to play tonight. No one could complete a pass if their lives depended on it.

Maybe the early Ennis injury messed something up, but they just couldn't play a full 60 minutes.

Not sure if it was the ice or just us, but that puck seemed to bounce quite a bit and jumped off our sticks quite easily.

Leino. What the hell. I didn't expect him to be a stand-out player or anything, but get your head out of your ass Lame-o.

Power play looked like it was played by a beer-league pick-up game team. We can't sustain any pressure in their offensive zone on a powerplay. We were lucky if we were able to even get set-up in their zone before we promptly gave it away.

I hope we can rebound and kick some ass on Tuesday, but if not, it's gonna be another long game.

Just sayin'

We're 5-2, let's not kill ourselves yet.

My typical response to such threads.

But if we keep playing the way we did tonight, that 2 is gonna go up very quickly.

And in typical OP style, "A loss is a loss and those 2 points could come back to bite us come playoff time"

game 4 of a 4 game roadtrip (in which they won the first three). They were flat but can't be up for all 82 games. Still, I'd like to see some signs of life from Boyes and for Leino to stop trying to do too much.

OK
Im gonna go off this thread instead.

What I got from inside the lockeroom last nite.....

1st of all Pegula did not buy a plane for the Sabres they still share charter planes out of Buffalo.

Team was EXHAUSTED last nite and it showed in the pregame skate through the game. Speaking to members of the media they were exhausted as well and couldn't wait to get back to Buffalo last nite. The travel has put a strain on them. From what I got out of it they are thrilled they are 5-2 in this young season. Look for them to LOOK very sharp Tueday vs Tampa. After the game the players were very tired and on the bus right after showers. Usually they stick around and chat and sign autographs if you want them too..
Don't know if you knew this but Lindy asked the families of the players to not make the trip overseas to keep them focused.
I won't make much out of the Tampa game last nite they just didn't look right.......

While in Florida Pegula took the Whole organization that made the Florida trip on his Yacht down in FT Lauderdale day before the Panthers game. From what I heard the Boat was a mini cruise ship. Pegula does make 90% of the games no matter where it is....He does have his own jet so maybe that whats the pictures or rumors were.

I asked a few questions with my contact yesterday and 1 was about Leino. Don't forget Leino was put in as a Center and is much more comfortable as a Winger. This is a reason he was put to the 3rd and 4th line. Look for him to get more comfortable as the weeks go by.
Hecht--------Well you heard it hear 1st he is being shopped and will be traded in the upcoming weeks....Maybe sooner then later.
I did ask more but after a dozen beers in the club you forget..........
Figured I would give you guys a few things....

Wouldn't go that far, team looked just as bad in montreal but Miller saved them 2 pts...

I think thats all they want is a pick.
There is no room for the guy and thats the main reason for this move.
Having concussion problems so this or next year maybe it for him.
From what I hear, if he doesnt find the right situation you might hear him retire.

the same thing that hurt Boyes last year was being moved from W to C, so either Boyes plays out of position at C or Leino plays out of position at C.

The fact of the matter is that we don't have enough C's on this team.

That's why trading Hecht doesn't make a lot of sense, especially since we won't get much for him. Don't get me wrong- the guy is past his prime and has been mediocre for the last 2 or 3 years. But as a natural C, he is more productive at the position than Leino or Boyes.

I think you have seen the last of Hecht, if he plays that means there is some sort of injury on the team.
Things change day to day in pro sports.
Maybe Hecht starts Tuesday you never know.
Play him for a bit then he gets traded....
But from what I heard he is pretty much seen his last days in Buffalo.

Leino has played like Timmy... just Minus the IR time.

how many times has he been pushed off the puck or the puck just taken from him??

My Notes.

TB 1st goal, point shot, meh, shoulda got it out of the zone.

TB 2nd goal, why the eff was 4 players out of the DZone before the puck and 3 TB players? (1 on the wall, 1 on the line, 1 in front of Miller).

passes Look like doody, PP looks worse than its ever been (who's the PP coach?.. fire him now.., lack of sustained pressure and 2 sh goals against a 7 games into the season is a joke.)

Whats with all the stick checks?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Seriously, Sabres players are out there all game just trying to poke check and wave their stick at the puck all the time. only person i see hitting anyone consistently is Regehr.

he'd have 100 hits if hitting the boards counted as hits.

can someone kick myers in the nuts and pi.... him off?

Seriously he plays way better when he's mad,

So a P'd off Myers + Regehr = alot of pain for opposition.
