Coach Butch Davis, who has traditionally kept a tight rein on his assistants, has loosened their lips.
Davis still has a policy that the media must request interviews with assistants through the public relations department, but lately he has been making them available before requests are made.
On draft day, for instance, he brought several assistants into the media room after key picks. A couple of days before the veteran minicamp this month, Davis made his two coordinators and special teams coach Jerry Rosberg available. During those interviews, nothing was off limits and the coordinators were candid in their answers....
