The Raiderettes dazzle crowds wherever they go, whether that is at a Raiders home game, overseas in the Balkans or even just at local events held at the Oakland Raiders facility in Alameda, California. When Raiderettes Director Mary Barnes received a call a month ago about the Raiderettes attending a welcome home ceremony for all the Sailors and Marines who were stationed over in the Middle East during the recent war in Iraq, there was no hesitation in accepting the invitation.
More than 20 Raiderettes traveled three hours by bus on Friday, June 27, to Naval Air Station Lemoore to greet all the troops and their families and thank them for their services by putting on another dazzling performance. It was a perfect setting for a celebration with carnival rides going all day, great food around every corner, plenty of regional and local entertainment and nothing but smiles on everyone's faces...
