Sounds like a bad case of Plantar Faciatis(sp?). If you've ever had it, you know how painful it can be. Especially for a 350 pound person.

I heard he actually has bone spurs. Plantar fasciitis is often misslabeled as "heel spurs" but it is possible to get actual spurs in the bones. If he does have the spurs, then the only permanent treatment is going to involve surgery. BTW, I've had plantar fasciitis twice, once in each foot. The first time I pretty much ignored it and it cleared up on its own . . . in about two and a half years. The second time, I asked my doctor about it. He gave me stretching exercises and had me take 600-800 mg. of ibuprofen 3-4 times a day for a month. It cleared up in a couple months.

The fascia is a band of connective tissue that runs from you heel to the front of your foot on the bottom. "Plantar" means the bottom of your foot.
