With Lindell's shoulder injury obviously bothering him enough with his kicks, what kickers are out there in case we need one for the next few games?

Raiders probably released the kicker they signed when Janikowski was injured.

Lindell can kick, but wasn't able to cover kicks. That is all. No need.

I could kick up to maybe 35 yards.

Hows Moorman's placekicking?

Serious question.

Per inside source: The Bills have been grooming Michael Jasper all year to be our future kicker. If Lindell is unable to go this week expect the Bills to cut Terrance Wheatley and call up Jasper to be the kicker.

Distance was also said to be an issue tbh - Gailey mentioned it in his PC. I'd guess that being unable to move his shoulder freely, would stop Lindell from actually getting full power behind a kick.
Much will depend on exactly what he's done to it - some things, while relatively 'serious' might not actually prevent him from being able to go this week - e.g. a dislocation, whereas a muscle tear, might keep him out for a week or two.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if they didn't bring someone in by Wednesday, if there's the remotest possibility he might be out for this week.

I don't know about MOORMAN's placekicking, but his kickoff was good and I thought his attempt at the onside kick was one of the best I've seen, that ball look really hard to handle. I think that LINDELL is capable of kicking FG's with his injury, but I really haven't heard what it is or how bad.

i was sitting 3 rows up from the bills sideline. Moorman was practicing kicks for the game with george wilson practicing holding. I think the FG from 27 yards or whatever that lindell almost shanked was when moorman went into action.

Nobody any good.

Raynor played two times for CIN - busted up his leg, IIRC. They attempted to re-sign him last season when Nugent went down, but OAK inked him the day before.

He's not a boomer, but is a competent NFL kicker.

You mean the kicker for the Panthers that is the NFL's highest paid kicker who missed a 31 yard game tying FG with under a minute to go in game last week?

That is nuts.

There are more than 32 people in the world that can kick a football with a relative matter of success. If we need to replace RL for a couple games, it shouldn't be an issue.

Kicker is one of the most backlogged and deepest positions in the free agent market. Far more available talent than there are open roster spots.

First name on my list is Delbert Alvarado of the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL.

Chris Hazley was our UDFA place kicker in camp. Looked good. The punter they had looked even better. But he's a punter.

Danny Kight - dude has a huge leg but is inaccurate. Also I think he might be 40 now, but he's a kicker and Carney can still do it.

Rhys Lloyd - says he's on the Giants on NFL.com but he has no kicks on the year, don't recall him handling kickoff duties either.

Justin Medlock - drafted in 07 by the Chiefs now in the CFL, I believe. He is a lefty though.

Leigh Tiffin - Cleveland signed him and then injury settlemented him last year.

Aaron Pelfrey - another guy with a big leg

Kight is mostly a joke, but any of the other guys listed wouldn't surprise me if they were on the radar.

How many people can kick a FG from 55 yards in bad weather, and make sure the kicks are high enough over the line so as not to be blocked, and be able to run down returners and make solo tackles like Lindell did when he got injured?

Indeed, also a midseason replacement that year, too.

For the infamous Jake "Couldn't Hit an Extra Point" Arians. Graham did a good job that year, especially for a rookie. I say bring him back in.

There are people out there that can kick, but not with any consistency. That is the reason they don't have a job.

That may be so, but unless Moorman has undiscovered super powers, they're gonna have to acquire somebody. :rain:

Eh, Raynor's OK. They're in spot, and have to go to the street. They could do worse - like using Moorman... :nervous:

He breezed in and out of CIN a couple times (got his leg busted up in one of those stints after 1 kick-off!) when they had Graham who had pulled up lame.
