David Rayner, he is a football kicker slut. seems like he been on half the teams in the league. he must really blow.

I'm a little perplexed why we didn't go with Shayne Graham. As he does have some experience kicking here as a rookie (when he replaced Jake Arians) and he does have a better career field goal percentage than Rayner.

What's wrong with Jeff Reed? He has a big leg and can kick in awful weather in Pittsburgh.

Would of prefered Brandon Coutu. Went to HS with him (same graduating class) big leg, kicked at UGA, was with the Seahawks on and off for the past few years.

As I said before, none of those guys are any good. Any kicker that is good is on a team. It is not easy to kick with CONSISTENCY, that is the reason guys like Olindo Mare & Steve Christie were able to have such long careers.

Having a few road games may benefit the Bills because Buffalo is a tough place to kick at.

Speaking of Georgia kickers, eek, has Blair Walsh crapped the bed or what?!?

Hopefully, Rayner will just be kicking a bunch of extra points and kicking off.

Kyle Williams may be IR'd from what I have been reading.

Weather shouldn't be a factor. Rayner has one of the strongest legs in the NFL. His problem with accuracy on short kicks is in his head. The reason he keeps bouncing around is because teams get enamored with him when he tries out because his leg is so much stronger than the other kickers at the tryouts-then he misses a 30 yarder and the team is looking to replace him. The guy can kick 50 yarders in bad weather as good as any guy in the league, he just can't kick 30 yarders in good weather.

Just what I have been saying, no consistency.

You realize that, on average, there are only about two openings for kickers in the NFL each year, right? In many cases, if you're a kicker, you have to settle for living as an injury replacement, bouncing from team to team each year. It is extremely difficult to break into a permanent position, but when you do, you're pretty much in for the rest of your career.

What is rayner ends up being amazing and never missed one field goal. do the bills get rid of lindell for a 6 years younger rayner?

Well, at the very least, it would drive down Lindells bargining position so the Bills would offer him less.

Not a chance. Unless Lindell all of a sudden goes Ryan Miller on us, he's still the kicker until he retires and Rayner will be back on the injury replacement circuit.

Big, big-time community involvement and charity efforts etc. when in CIN. IIRC, he pushed for a bigger contract from a position of weakness - missed fg and extra point cost B'gals a playoff spot again IIRC. Some injuries along the way - skill waned a bit but that happens.

He's a good man. I wish him well and thank him for his efforts on the field and elsewhere.
