I cannot stand his play by play. Anyone else agree?

It's like he tries too hard. It's going to be sad when RJ leaves because if they pick someone from Buffalo to replace behind the microphone, they are just going to try to be the same as he was.

We need to find a smart broadcaster who can provide commentary and wit comparable to what you would hear on a national level. Not somebody who is just going to try to yell SCORE really loud.

While RJ is great, and Sylvester merely average, I never watch/listen to the Sabres or any other team because of the announcers. I follow my teams because I love to watch them play, not because of who is in the booth.

RJ wanted his son to take over but he's not good.

Like Jan said, it was still a good game to watch and KS didn't ruin the win. He's average but no biggie.

He was a morning host on WGR during the "WNSA's kicking our *** so we're just going to be a bunch of ****wads" era. That ought to tell you everything.

I will say this much, Brian Duff is a major improvement in the studio.

Us Sabres fans are very spoiled watching Sabres games on tv. From Ted Darling to RJ it does not get any better. Will be a sad day when RJ retires. Just like when Van Miller retired. Listening to the Bills has never been the same.
