Bills have their backs firmly planted against the wall
Suddenly, the Bills are a game out of a playoff spot. Their depth and physical resolve are being severely tested by injuries. Eric Wood is out for the year. Kyle Williams was already gone, which means the physical and emotional anchor of both sides of the line of scrimmage is gone for the season.
George Wilson, the leader of a resourceful defense during the early-season run, is doubtful today. Kicker Rian Lindell is still out. Judging from this week's injury report, just about every player on the Bills is nursing some sort of ailment. Even Buddy Nix, the architect of the roster, admitted that a lack of depth is showing.
But hey, that's the NFL. No one is crying for the Bills.
