What happened to all of the optimistic, let's give the Bills the benefit of the doubt, fans? what happened to all that optimism, all that seeing things as glass half full, where did it all go? are you all becoming realists?

Re: Reality vs "being optimistic"
The 2 have nothing in common which would make them comparable. You can still be realistic while also being optimistic. Optimism is synonymous with hope, and is based on future outcome, or what could be. Reality is based on fact, the hear, and now, or what has already happened. JMO

Ive always been positive
But injuries have crushed this team we dont have the depth to overcome them
If urbrick can be solid at c and hairston/bell can man lt i think our o will get better even with spiller (maybe not week 1-3)
Still think we can win today and even beat the titans then u nevr know

I knew an old man that was optimistic about winning the lottery. To face the reality he would have to realize and admit that there are other far more likely ways to become rich. As a result of being more likely & probable they are easier because he would have actual control of the outcome. The old man, by taking action, could directly impact his wealth however he as no control over winning the lottery, it's just luck.
In the first case optimism is nothing more than wishful thinking & is quite distructive. In the second case, where there is direct causation, optimism is very necessary and positive.Last edited by Mike; 11-27-2011, 01:38 PM.Please Make Sense

Re: Reality vs "being optimistic"
A 5-2 start has everybody on cloud 9. Then reality started to sink in, and were all starting to see what this team really is. Injury ridden, no real deep threat, shuffling o-line, and a QB who cant throw a deep ball.Originally posted by OpIv37You guys, the solution is so simple. Find the crazy kids who are shooting up the schools and have them shoot people getting off planes from West Africa.
No more school shootings, no more Ebola.
Obama would have thought of this already if he wasn't a pinko commie Nazi queer-loving wetback-loving Kenyan Indonesian Muslim.
