This was after his little touchdown catch that mocked out Plaxico Burress....

I don't have the problem with it, but he needs to catch a ****ing ball that hits his hands.

Edit: I missed the last half of the tweet.

He's right. I hope there are actually some leaders on this team that give him hell for that.

Why do people continue to ignore the rest of the tweet? He supported it and later tweeted that it was funny.

Shawn Merriman is not on the field he is on twitter. So I call him out for that.

I don't give a crap about his celebrations because that means he is scoring. I wish I would have saw a second one today because he should have had one, twice!

It was disrespectful. It was also ****ing stupid in retrospect of him shooting the Bills in the foot by looking like a ****ing hack on the final drive of the game.

I like his enthusiasm, but I would trade his little dances for a game winning catch... quit trying to make the news by dancing, and make it with your play.

I did see the whole tweet, I just don't give a ****, as I am tired of dancing and tweeting...I would like some winning.

If he did not carry it to far and cost us 15 yrds I don't really care about it. When guys hurt their team trying to draw attention to themselves it pisses me off. To then drop the winning TD only makes it worse for Johnson. If you are going to act like an ass you better back it up.

I like Stevie...but if he spent as much time working on catching the ball as he does preparing for TD celebrations, he would be a top 5 WR. He needs to be more humble and learn how to be clutch!

This is funny,

Burress shot himself in the leg, Stevie shot himself in the foot....

Could be tomorrow's headline...

If Merriman thinks a dance that help set up the Jets score before halftime is funny I'm glad that loser is not going to be here next year.

People are too lazy to read books, so we have magazines. People are too lazy to read magazines, so we have newspapers. People are too lazy to read newspapers, so we have twitter. And still, people are too lazy to even read 140 characters from a tweet.

He will never be top 5...Ever.

Throw him the ball all day long for the first 3-1/2 qtrs, but avoid him like the plague when the game is on the line.

His die is cast.

no excuse to miss those two catches.

he now has lost two games that meant alot to the team. (pitt, and jets)

yardie is right. just make him run down the field to draw away the no1 cb in the fourth. but by all means DO NOT THROW TO HIM.

HE WILL DROP IT.

i think they should put some pressure situations on him in practice. maybe take it back to the high school days and put some team sprints on weather he can catch a ball or not????

You can't replicate game-time pressure in practice.

What you can do is bench him for a game to teach him where his priorities should lie.

Enough BS, focus on your job,

Agreed! I'd rather see Fitz throw the ball to David Nelson in the 4th quarter. He's clutch!

you cant bench your best wr because he dropped some passes in a clutch situation.

it doesnt teach him any lesson. obv he would have loved to have caught those passes.

his td celebration had litteraly NOTHING to do with him missing those passes. puts a foot in his mouth and makes him look dumb, but just becasue he celebrates doesnt mean it affects his catching 30 plays later.

I disagree.

He's too focused on being a showman than being the best WR he can be, which is damn good if he put his mind to it.

TO is the only guy who had a right to do it... he was unstoppable and earned the right to do that.

But, as good as TO was, and although he will go in to the HoF one day, he could have been sooo much better if he was focused on being as good as his mentor, JR.

well i guess we all have an opinion.

i would say that him not celebrating may make him a more stand up player. but i dont think it will make him better at all.

your either good or your not.
you either catch the ball or not.
you either score or you dont.

and celebrating wont change any of that.

i see your comparasin to t.o. and ocho

those guys and randy moss all over celebrated and ran their mouths way to much.

it never once effected their play.
made them look dumb when they messed up but they took their licks and kept playing.

and as a result you will see all three in the HOF some day.

sj13 can talk all he wants, and celebrate all he wants.

he really needs to work on being the clutch guy. he is our best wr and prolly will be for a while, when you are the best wr on the team you need to be the guy that the team and the qb can count on with 10 seconds left to catch the ball in the endzone when you are wide open.

HE ISNT.

so he needs to work on that. im sure there are sports psychs that know way more about this than i do so i wont bother saying what should happen.

but it needs to change.

keep celebrating and bringing that intensity that riles up the team and gets the unity going. but you need to be the playmaker that is clutch also.

OR WE NEED TO FIND ONE.

I'm going to prove right now why there is a direct correlation between being humble and focused and being productive.

If you asked anyone who watches football who the best WRs in the game are most would list in some order:

1. Andre Johnson
1a. Larry Fitz
2. Calvin Johnson
3. Roddy White
4. Greg Jennings
5. Reggie Wayne

The fact that I have never seen any single one of them with a planned or exaggerated celebration is no coincidence.

Then you look at guys that are making plays but also have bone-head moments...

Desean Jackson, maturity always been a question, dropped 2 easy TDs today against the Pats.

Kenny Britt, maturity issues, can be great but he's inconsistent.

Chad Ocho, IMO, he could have done much more with his career, but constant talking and gimmicks watered it down.

Steve Smith, constant issues with him, big playmaker but inconsistent career with suspensions and gaps in performance.

There is a direct correlation between players who just want to ball and make things happen for their teams, and players who want to make things happen for their teams but also have showmanship on their minds and social media.

I would also add Boldin and Welker to the list... 2 more shut up and play type guys.

all of those guys are great recievers and are shut up and play guys.

but that doesnt necessarily mean that they are good because of it.

just about all of them are huge targets and were first round picks. wich means that they just have pure tallent.

i dont see any way we can prove any of this.

but also stevie really only celebrates td's, i never really see him talking trash or being a mouth issue at all.

either way we can agree that he needs to learn to become a clutch player right?

I'm not so sure. His dances obviously get a lot of thought put into them, and that means he's not as focused on his play as he could be.
