The drop should not be considered game winning. He had three defenders surrounding him. I doubt he gets to the end zone.

Nobody even enters the frame of that GIF. I would think that a "surrounding defender" would want to get close to an offensive player when the ball goes toward him.

Maybe all three of these mystery defenders stopped running as soon as they recognized who the receiver was?

I saw the defenders (they don't have to be in the frame of the gif to keep him from entering the end zone), and I doubt he would have run it in very easily. However, that's a lot of ground gained at that point and we'd have a much, much better shot at getting the TD at that point.

I haven't seen a good replay of the first drop, but did hear Murphy's live radio play-by-play this AM and at the time he indicated Stevie would've 'coasted' into the end zone.

i've heard people say that he would have made it to the endzone, but i thought there were two defenders behind him. it would have been a race. and the way the bills were running, i doubt they would have punched it in.

The bills need to start signing this season's starters and find some depth so that we aren't relying on people playing out of position when injuries occur. The fact they rolled into this season hoping to survive on one center is ridiculous.

For a team that constantly gets injured and has cap room, you'd think they'd get a clue and build depth. That shows how little interest they have in being competitive in the long term.

At the very least we probably have the ball at around the 10, and he had a likely chance of scoring on that play.

The one part where our offense IS very good is in the red zone though, so it's pretty likely we would've scored if he catches that ball.
