There has been a lot of disagreement on this topic. I think part of the reason is because were failing to Define the statement & articulate what we mean. It seems there are people strongly on both sides of the argument and as usual the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Definition of "injuries as an excuse": injuries were detrimental however their impact on the end result was minimal

Definition of "injuries as a reason": injuries Were detrimental and the reason the end result was minimal

Now both have a tad of truth. For instance both the Colts & Pats lost their HOF QBs for a season. One team went 11-5 & the other has yet to win a game. Both injuries were detrimental. For the Pats the impact was minimal, and for the Colts the impact was devastating. It can be concluded that as a result it's safe to assume that the Pats were the much better Team.

So do you think that injuries on the Bills have been detrimental enough to loose out on the payoffs? Or Do you think the Bills would have missed playoffs in any case?

If you believe soley in the injury excuse couldnt you argue that that's the reason the Bills loose, Detriot has not won a SB, why Pats blew a perfect record, why Colts won't win SB this year?

Overall, I feel that good/great teams overcome major injuries & find a way to win. The 1990's Bills did it, the Pack did it last year, & the Texans are doing it now. In now way did the injuries to Bills players cost the Bills a playoff spot, it's their pay & lack f talent that did t.
