With talk of Stevie Johnson MAYBE being the first bills WR to post back to back 1000 yard seasons ever, has any one noticed Fitz has been the first Bills QB since Kelly to put up back to back 3000 yard, and back to back 20+ TD pass seasons.

Yea, the defense had absolutely nothing to do with any of our losses.

If he was more consistently accurate, we'd be talking about a 4000 yard season. Here's to hoping he figures it out for 2012.

And while we are at it, lets also hope the Bills get him another weapon or two.

A dependable #2 would do wonders.

With all of the rule changes, accomplishments in the passing game are kind of watered down and don't mean as much.

Kelly is a HOFer, Reed should be. The fact that a couple of guys like Fitz and Stevie are going to pull off something they never did speaks volumes about the state of the current game.

yep exactly. Over 4,000 yds / season is a recent evolution of the game. It's the new bench mark for an elite QB. it happened 14 times in the entire 1980's, it's happened 20 times between 2008-2010.

Defenses as a whole were horrible-- even moreso than previous years-- earlier in the year, because of the whole lockout and lack of offseason. Buffalo, more or less an established offense, was able to light it up with unusual ease during that stretch. That's how they were able to reach that milestone. Had they played 16 games against the current NFL defenses, they wouldn't even be close.

How do you explain last year then?

Fitz was responsible for the poor defense and all the injuries.

Sarcasm aside, Fitz could have been better. But he was far from the main reason they lost this year.
