And unless RG3 or Blackmon falls we have to use our first pick on the best pass-rusher in the draft. This defense will be much better with Dareus year 2, Kyle Williams, and someone that can get to the QB.

It is by far our biggest need and premier pass-rushers don't come cheap in FA, if they are available at all.

My plan would be to draft quinten coples to play rde and then sign fa kroy bierman to spell him. i would use a 9 man rotation on the dline like the lions.

coples/bierman
williams/troup/heard
dareus/edwards
kelsay/carrington- lose 15-20lbs

if by miracle merriman is healthy, i would use him as a 3rd down pass rusher, but that is a huge if and nix should plan his offseason as if merriman is not here...

a young prospect like coples and another emerging pass rusher like bierman would be a solid plan for the next few years. i agree, pass rush is our biggest need, its not even close...

I can't believe that we are looking at yet another post season without a playoff. AND, ONCE AGAIN, we find oursleves finding an answer for the defense.

Having dareus and williams attacking instead of 2gap play along with coples/ bierman would give us way more pressure. im sold, move to the 43 and play a big attacking front like the vikings have the past 5 years.

take a deep breath man! i feel your pain. the lions were 2-14 and 6-10 their first two years of rebuilding.... yes stafford is better than fitz, but i think fitz is better than most people realize. fix the pass rush and we will win 10-11 games next year.

Our problems stopping the run our due to our terrible linebackers. Our first pick can't be used on a linebacker unless we are running a 3-4.
