When Mikael Samuelsson first got checked by Phoenix’ Shane Doan it seemed like a head injury as I wrote in my blog: “Samuelsson was off balance when Coyotes’ Shane Doan shoulder-checked him into the boards and was barely conscious as he lay on the ice for a few minutes. He walked off groggily. Although the original prognosis was a sore back, in this day and age of the dreaded ‘c’ word or concussion, it’s highly likely that Samuelsson might be nursing one today.”
However the Panthers told us it was a lower body injury and then a bruised tailbone. I took their word for it. No longer.

now after the NFL basically forced teams to report any injuries (jets/favre debacle.... pats not reporting) think the NHL needs to enforce stricter policies for misdiagnosis?
