View Full Version : Hue Jackson fired! I'd like him for WR or QB coach

Raiders fired Hue.

He's been a HC, OC, WR, and QB coach in this league.

I like his energy and demeanor.

I think he'd be a good addition to the staff to replace Cortez or Hixon, if he doesn't get an OC gig somewhere.

I agree. This guy gets his players to play hard and physical.

Well, we need bot a QB and WR coach...

Main hurdle would likely be compensation, as usual...

Compensation as far as salary?

The Bills haven't had many issues with that (I can recall, at least) when it comes to position coaches.

They aren't paid all that much and there's probably a pretty clear window of what they make in the NFL.

Just make him HC then.

Bring him in as OC.

Well, I just read that Cortez (as the Bills QB caoch) made $400k: http://www.sportsnet.ca/football/cfl/2012/01/07/lefko_on_cortez/

Sources say if Cortez didn't get his financial asking price, it wouldn't be that far off because it would have to at least match his NFL salary of $400,000. Moreover, he gets a guaranteed three-year deal, which might be more long-term security than he had in Buffalo -- his value would never be higher than it is now.

Do you think Hue Jackson would agree to the same amount Cortez got?

If not, do you think the Bills would meet Jackson's salary demands?

He'll be the Jets OC soon enough.

I would love to see the Bucs hire him as HC.

I am no expert on coaches contracts and salary but I thought usually when a coach was fired the team that fired him has to pay his full salary however if he signed with another team the team that fired him would only have to make up the difference if he was paid less by his new team. Thus Jackson could sign for less and the Raiders would have to pay the difference.

If he doesn't get HC or OC offers, he would be smart to come to Buffalo. It presents great opportunities for him. We shall see.

I would love him in Buffalo. He could show Gailey how to use 2 RBs like he did with Bush and McFadden.
