All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Remember how the Bills offered Brian Schottenheimer the HC position? Now he's been let go by the Jets and is considering being the OC at Alabama.
Who knows what his future holds but it just goes to show that when you're offered a HC gig you probably shouldn't balk at it without even at least paying the professional courtesy to interview.
Its only a rumor at this point they havent interviewed him.
That being said Brian is a NFL coach who can help convince kids he can help them get to the NFL, he has countless contacts through his time in the NFL and his father, and was a backup QB at Florida under Steve Spurrier.

He was NEVER offered the HC gig. He was offered a chance to interview , along with a dozen other candidates.
Considering we had no one else willing to interview and ended up going with a low-key hire in Gailey, he was the clear favorite to take the job had he interviewed.

Cowher interviewed for the job if memory serves me correct.

I don't think that's exactly the way it played out.
The Bills did talk to Cowher, but as we all know now, his wife was dying & he was not interested in a job with any team at that time, he wanted to be by his wifes side.

Well how did it play out then? Because he was definitely never interviewed as a candidate and there was never any public confirmation that even he was interested in the job.
It was all media and fans hoping for the guy to come here and stories of him being offered 10 mil per season.
And even if he was a candidate, Cowher can afford to pass up opportunities, he is a SB winning coach that can get any job he wants.
Schott was an OC who was offered a franchise and he turned his nose up because he was with the mighty Jets.

It was reported that the Bills wanted Cowher & talked to him. It was also reported that Cowher recommended Chan Gailey for the job to the Bills.

Exactly, there is a big difference between an organization talking to a coach in hopes of him accepting and the coach and the organization both acknowledging candidacy, which neither did.
"Hey Bill please come coach our team"
Bill: "Uh, no, how bout you hire my old assistant though..?" does not constitute a candidate.

No, he was offered the chance to interview. That's all.
"'Clean up your room.', 'Stand up straight.', 'Pick up your feet.', 'Take it like a man.', 'Be nice to your sister.', 'Don't mix beer and wine, ever.'. Oh yeah, 'Don't drive on the railroad track.'"
No, he was offered the chance to interview. That's all.
Like I said though, everyone knows we had no one interested in the job. Shannahan, Cowher, Schott Sr. all of them didn't want it. And there were no official interviews with anyone else other than Gailey.
Brian would have had the inside track (due to how well the Bills knew him as a division rival) and would have been the best candidate to interview in terms of prestige.
You say "only given chance to interview" as if there was a lineup outside of OBD for the HC position when in fact no one showed up.
