All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
do the bills have a legit shot at getting mario williams or cliff avril
Re: do the bills have a legit shot at getting mario williams or cliff avril
I'm not a cap expert, but I'm 99.99% sure that cap room would not be a factor...
Little known rule about the 2012 cap... Any unused part of the 2011 cap may be rolled over to the 2012 cap, which, in effect, would make the Bills' cap larger than teams that spent their 2011 cap.
However, willingness to spend that cap space could very well be a factor.

This.
The cap space is there but Ralph won't spend it.
Do we have a legitimate shot? Yes. Will we take it? Most likely no.

this is a BS excuse.
First, it's the FO's job to create a situation where players want to come here. If they are not doing it, then they are failing.
Second, crappy teams sign big- name FA's every year. But when it comes to Buffalo, no one wants to play here. I'm tired of it. It's time we held this team accountable instead of using BS excuses that don't apply to the other 31 teams.

how much cap room do we have left for 2012
Not really enough info... How much bonus money are each getting?
How much of that is in "unrealistic escalators?"
What current Bills won't be here in 2012?
Just a couple of questions that would need answered. But, I'd be willing to bet that the Bills do not spend what they can spend, accordign to the NFL's calculations, which is the root of the problem.
Re: do the bills have a legit shot at getting mario williams or cliff avril
It seems Mario Williams and Cliff Avril are in pretty good situations w/their current teams. If the Lions and Texans come close w/compensation for them, those guys would be crazy to leave.
