Figured they would go back to the having and extra defensemen play. I mean, they had Kaleta and Roy on in a 4 on 4 with one minute left, playing not to lose, almost like they were in a penalty kill, I cheer hard for this team to win but it is hard to do when you disagree with almost everything Ruff does at this point.
I believe the reason there was a 7th defensemen last night was because of the fact that Hecht was a last minute scratch with concussion like symptoms.

Originally posted by SkateZillanot to mention, when Myers Blocked the shot, he got scooped to the groin by the guy behind him.... or he would cleared the puck out.
the NJ game was won by Miller...
also on the streaming broadcast the commentators mentioned that New Jersey of late has had something of a scoring drought. Helped the Sabres that the Devils are also in the bottom half of the league in points, too.
But anytime a team has only 14 shots on goal in regulation and wins, chalk that up to some good goal tending. Teams like the Bruins can rack up 14 shots in a single period. I really doubt the Sabres could win any game against a top 12 team with 14 shots on goal.
The Sabres did have a great advantage in giveaways - something like half the giveaways the Devils had, which was an improvement over previous games. Keeping control of the puck definitely helped Miller in the goal.
This lowly cart.... it hits harder and has a higher yards
per play average than the Bills' offense!
