Re: Buffalo's newest public enemy #1
I would imagine that being a visiting player to Buffalo is no picnic. You go from the airport, down the 33, to the hotel. Whichever hotel they stay at, the only thing around Buffalo to do is on Chippewa. I can't argue that Buffalo isn't the best place to visit for a team if the only thing you see are those areas.

Boston can break off into the sea or get flooded by global warming along with Florida and California as far as I'm concerned.YardRat Wall of Fame

Re: Buffalo's newest public enemy #1
I see Boston and Buffalo as opposites.
Buffalo: the place itself isn't the greatest. The weather sucks, industry has dried up, development doesn't happen, etc. But the people make it great. They're down to earth, they know how to cook, they know how to eat, they know how to drink.
Boston: The place itself is cool. The weather's not much better than Buffalo, but they have prestigious colleges, a ton of history, and iconic sports venues. The people, however, are epic-level douchebags. Half the city is pretentious Ivy League ****s, and the other half are working/middle class people with an inferiority complex constantly trying to prove that they're not pretentious Ivy League ****s.

Re: Buffalo's newest public enemy #1
From my point of view this is way different than that Brady thing. First off Brady dumped on Buffalo in the playoffs for no apparent reason he was in Buffalo like 15 weeks prior.
Marchand was asked a question about Buffalo right before he was traveling there and he's also asked the question with a negative attached to it. "It's kind of boring there" the interviewer is clearly baiting him. And let's be honest when you're looking at exciting places to travel Buffalo doesn't bring much to the table.
Marchand also isnt the face of a franchise he's a guy who wants to get under your skin.
That being said, I personally think that Buffalo has one of the best fanbases of any market in the country. I would rank Buffalo and Pittsburgh as the two top loyal fanbases in all markets. Not only are you guys loyal but I also think you're probably one of the most knowledgeable, and while the city doesnt get a ton of respect I think as a fanbase you definitely do.I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Problem is where most teams stay in Buffalo is the Hyatt or Adams Mark.
Well there is nothing close by at all.
Mall is in Cheektowaga so its a far taxi ride.
Niagara Falls is 30 minutes away.
So really there is nothing to do in Downtown Buffalo.
You can only visit the Anchor Bar so many times.GO Gators!!!!!!
GO GATORS!!
