    Stephen Hill

This kid's gonna fly up the draft boards... He just ran a 4.30 40... He averaged over 25 yards/catch at GT! http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings...2012&genpos=WR

Agree... But unexpected speed has got to have some affect in moving him up from 60 or so. I believe he was only published aroun 4.47 speed. To have him throw down a 4.30 at combine probably even got Al Davis' attention from the grave.

Well he was a 3rd to 4th Rounder coming in, probably a secure 3rd Rounder now but not much higher.

Chris Owusu has some crazy numbers, too bad he's one head injury from being sidelined for good.

Too bad for anybody that actually puts stock in 40 times.

It's more important how fast they are with pads on.

                  Like what?

I've never seen the kid play, so I'm totally clueless. His combine has certainly been impressive. I'd like to know what his issues are. Does he have poor hands or something?

I haven't seen anything that's a major negative. IMO the biggest knock is simply lack of production, only from a reception standpoint (product of the system), and he may not be the most polished or fluid route runner.

I woke up this morning and groggily opened up my Twitter app to check the latest NFL Scouting Combine updates. Even in February, my days start by pondering what’s going on in the world of the Buffalo Bills ...

                        Hands, Awareness, and Concentration.

Im not going to knock him for his routes so much because he was stuck in a triple option system.

You know... I hear this every year. Extremes get argued and all of a sudden there's absolutely no value in being able to run fast.

Here's the deal in this case... You got a guy who has a 40 speed attached to him of 4.46... NFLDraftScout.com has him ranked as a late 2nd rounder... Then the guy runs a 4.30. Honestly... You don't think that should be taken into account somehow? It's a cummulative thing... It's some magic formula comprised of many things... Strength, speed, smarts, motivation, etc, etc, etc. Any one of those that exceed (or falls short of) expectation can have an affect on where that player gets drafted.

It's not putting more stock into 1 thing... It's considering information that wasn,t there befor.

No, I don't. This isn't a track meet, it's football. I'm much more interested in how he moves, or how fast he runs, with pads on in a game situation. If 40 time was so important relative to the game, Renaldo Nehemiah would be in the HOF.

You're still arguing extremes YR... Speed matters, hands nmatter, route running matters, jumping ability matters, eyesight matters...

By fashionably ignoring any aspect of the formula is a diservice.

                              Peace
