Sabres talking to Boyes about new long term contract?

Sabres GM Darcy Regier was seen today here in Winnipeg talking to Brad Boyes possibily about a new contract.

we were saying that there had to be more to the Gaustad deal well this is the other shoe to the Gaustad deal. They move out Gaustad to get the first round draft choice and it also frees up money on the cap to resign Boyes.

I think this is Hamilton just ramblin on like he does once in a while, The Walrus doesn't know how to report anything! He asks terrible questions at the press conferences and in the post game show when he interviews the players, Sly reports better than Hamilton does. The best guy that should be Sabres reporter is Brian Duff he asks great questions because he has to because he works for NHL Network.

Gaustad is an UFA, ... he wont have a salary hit against out cap unless we re-sign him,

trading him doesnt free up squat to tender an extension to a player already on our cap..

darcy made some good trades at the deadline but if he resigns boyes he should be fired on the spot

Boyes is a good 4th liner. If you have a good 3 lines, Boyes on the 4th isnt all that bad.

no, he's a top 6 skillset player. he brings no energy, he's paid to score. he can't play a checking line role either.
