    Buffalo's Free Agent Tracker

    As of today, per billsdaily...

Here is a look at the 2012 free agents and what we predict will happen to them. There are 14 unrestricted free agents these players have four years or more of service.

    Unrestricted Free Agents
These free agents are free to sign with any team they want in the off season with no compensation to the Bills. (They may be given compensatory draft picks for players lost in next year's draft.)
OT Demetrius Bell - Want to re-sign him but not at top dollar due to injury history. Will test market.
TE Scott Chandler - Say they want to re-sign him but he is likely to test the market for a better deal.
RB Tashard Choice - Shouldn't bring him back but Gailey loves him so it's possible.
CB Reggie Corner - Will not be retained.
LB Andra Davis - His time in Buffalo and maybe the NFL has come to an end. Will make a good coach.
WR Derek Hagan - Worth bringing back at or close to league minimum.
WR Stevie Johnson - Signed a new contract with team 3/6.
K Rian Lindell - Signed a new contract with team 2/7.
WR Ruvell Martin - May be retained if he doesn't get a deal elsewhere because of his special teams play.
LB Kirk Morrison - Team wants to re-sign him to challenge for starting job on the strongside.
WR Roscoe Parrish - Grown tired of his injury history, wants to stay but will likely let him go.
K Dave Rayner - They are not interested in bringing him back with Lindell signed.
S Bryan Scott - They should want him back because of his versatility. It's a good fit for him and he wants to stay.
LB Reggie Torbor - Hurt all year, likely not to be re-signed.

    Restricted Free Agents
Players are restricted free agents if they have three or less years of service. The Bills have the right to match any offer any of these free agents get or receive compensation in the form of draft picks for each player lost. The round of the pick depends on where the player was drafted and/or the price of the qualifying offer given by the Bills.

OL Chad Rinehart - Will be tendered an offer. He is a valuable swing guard.
LS Garrison Sanborn - Agreed to 3 year deal with Bills 1/30.
OL Kraig Urbik - Will be tendered an offer. Expect him to start next year again.

    Exclusive Rights Free Agents
These players have two or less years experience and have no bargaining power. They will remain with the Bills if they tender them.

RB Bruce Hall - Unlikely to be tendered.
K Brandon Coutu - Definitely won't be tendered with Lindell re-signed.

I liked him too but the question is do you keep him to be your 3rd RB or a younger player like Johnny White? I say White because of upside potential.

              Next priority should be Bell.

Then extend Urbik. If he plays solid again, he should get a good long term deal next offseason.

Well, some good, but I don't think the rest of the league is going to be beating in the doors in a bidding frenzy for the Bills' FA crop.

Anyway you spin it, they have a weak roster. That's on the FO.

                  Not many would argue otherwise.

Hence why I'd love to see them move back from #10 and get even more picks.

Well, I would say it is on PAST front offices. Nix & his people have improved this roster as much as possible in two years. Wait until FA & the draft are over, I expect to see further improvements before the season begins.

Me too. I'd be happy to see some club that had the hots for BUF's#10 that would work their own side deals that ended up with something like a pair of high/mid #2s and some toss-in later picks handed over to BUF.

I don't know if I overvalue the #10...or undervalue it, for that matter. The thought is that the more upper round bodies, the better the possibilities are of hitting on a good one. So the conventional wisdom seems to say.

I'd take a later 1st plus a 2nd day pick. If the 2nd day pick ends up a 3rd, maybe pepper in a 2013 mid rounder or 2012 late rounder, all depending on how far they were to move back.

I really like the crop of day 2 players with the needs the team has. When all is said and done, I'd love to see two DEs and two OLBs taken at some point.
