Not surprising.

They'll be one of the teams that vastly overpay the first 72 hours of FA

who has hack moran penciled in as his destination so we know who's eliminated from the sweepstakes?

I think we will very much be in on this one more than any other FA IMO.

My thought on this is what happens if we get him for a bigger contract than Stevie's? It may take more money. Does that mean he's then our #1? After Stevie was re-signed as our #1?

It would seem to create a goofy situation.

But, the Nix ties may run deep on this one. I think this is a real possibility for the Bills.

They are also going after Cortland Finnegan. Finnegan & Jackson have been talking to each other about going to Tampa. I have no doubt the Bucs will sign both of them.

If anything I would rather throw the $$$ at Mario Williams instead of Vincent Jackson.

Finnegan maybe becuase they still dont know what Ronde is going to do or the situation with Talib.
But makes sense they have a boatload of $$$ to spend but they also have to deal with Freeman and a new contract soon.
That will be in the $10 mill per category

So they get Winslow II, and if they pick up Jackson, who goes to the slot? Williams or Benn? Doesn't seem like a good fit IMHO...

Perfect fit both can go slot....

As far as the Bills are concerned, if they are going to go after one of the big name FA's, I hope it's Carl Nicks.

Well, I have heard the Bucs want the physical aspect that Finnegan will bring to the team. As you said, Rhonde may retire at 36 years old & Talib may be suspended. They need a vet CB even if they do draft a CB in the 1st rnd which I expect them to do.

According to this guy, Washington and Chicago are going to be the major players...

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/11/redskins-sound-ready-to-break-bank-for-vincent-jackson/

It’s no secret that the Redskins and Bears will pursue Vincent Jackson (http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3202/vincent-jackson)here (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/11/vincent-jackson-could-be-robert-griffin-iiis-top-receiver/) and Chicago’s in this space (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/05/bears-expected-to-make-run-at-free-agent-vincent-jackson/). Buffalo (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/05/bills-rumored-to-have-interest-in-vincent-jackson/) and Tampa Bay (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/03/08/report-finnegan-recruiting-vincent-jackson-for-possible-package-deal/) have also been floated as possible Jackson destinations.

Kevin Acee of the Union-Tribune San Diego takes it a step further in a Sunday night report, confirming Chicago and Washington are expected to be Jackson’s two most aggressive pursuers and that the Redskins “will do almost whatever it takes (http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/mar/11/analysis-jackson-would-miss-rivers-has-options/)” to land this year’s top free agent wideout.

"almost"? What the hell does almost get you? If the Skins want Jackson, they will have to do what ever it takes, NOT "almost whatever it takes". The Bucs have the money to spend & they will need to spend it to put fans back in the seats.

The Buccs probably threw a ton of money at him. They had a ton to spend and VJax was probably commanding over $10mil.

No reason to stay in the VJax sweepstakes.

So basically the Bills planned on signing V-Jack and Mario!

That was bold to say the least but makes sense that they pulled out seeing as how Mario will cost a boatload on his own.

Fine with that, if we get mario we can always draft a WR (and sign one)
