Would be a Big upgrade. He is expected to leave in free agency. He wasnt franchised.

Re: Saints OG Carl Nicks
If we added Carl it would not be a dumb move, but it would be predicated on probably moving Levitre to LT permanently which probably isn't the best idea. That would be probably cheaper then trying to sign back Gaither or Bell as LT's who will probaby be overpaid
Levitre Nicks Woods Urbik Pears. Would Levitre be good enough ? Probably not his strength
I think Jackson and Spiller would have huge years running up the middle on that line

Re: Saints OG Carl Nicks
If Urbik and Rinehart return I think we're pretty set on the interior. Urbik provides decent depth at C and Rinehart can play either G position and played pretty well too. We'll probably use a draft pick for more depth too.
If we're going to spend big money on one player in free agency, there are a lot of other positions I'd want to pursue first before going for a G.

Re: Saints OG Carl Nicks
We need a back-up C that can swing to guard if necessary, not vice versa. Levitre needs to stay put at LG, and I don't care if the other four guys go down you still don't move him.
Creating two holes when you only have to fill one on an offensive line is just plain stupid.YardRat Wall of Fame
